Hunt PM
The hunt PM (promemoria) is a sheet with everything the hunters need to know before a hunt. The app builds it from what you have already entered. You can read it in the app or print it.
What is in the hunt PM?
- The hunt's name, day and time.
- Safety: the team's safety rules, what applies to this hunt, and the line "In an emergency: call 112" with the meeting place's coordinates.
- Allowed game: which species and classes may be shot, how many, and any fines.
- Meeting place with address, coordinates and a link to the map on your phone.
- Hunt leadership: hunt leader, deputy hunt leader, host and wounded game trackers with phone numbers. A hunt can have several wounded game trackers, in the order you call them.
- The Jaktli code and a QR code, so external guest hunters can join the hunt.
- Radio: frequency, channel and pilot tone.
- Agenda: the drives in order with their times.
- Each drive with who stands on which stand, a map with the stands and names, and the safety points for that drive. No-shoot areas show on the map.
- Other remarks: what the hunt leader wants everyone to know.
Open the hunt PM
- Open the hunt in the calendar.
- Tap Hunt PM.
For a driven hunt, everyone sees Hunt PM once the plan is published. Before that, only the hunt leader and the other organisers see it, so they can read it through and print it. They fill in the details under Plan the hunt, PM details.
Fill in the details
Requires administrator role
The hunt leader, whoever created the hunt and the team's administrators can change the details.
Open the hunt, tap Plan the hunt and then PM details. Every part has a pencil next to it. Tap the pencil, make the change and tap Save.
- Hunt leadership: you pick the hunt leader, deputy hunt leader, host and wounded game trackers under Hunt leadership at the top of Plan the hunt. The host can be a member or a contact, for example the landowner. Tap Add wounded game tracker if you have more than one, and move them with the arrows so the one you call first is at the top.
- Meeting place: pick one of the team's map markers. The address is filled in for you. You can change it.
- Radio: fill it in if this hunt uses something other than the team's usual setup.
- Safety: write what applies to this hunt.
- Other remarks: write what others should know.
You set the team's usual radio setup under Team settings, in the Radio box.
Schedule: gathering, lunch and coffee
The hunt's schedule shows the drives in time order. You can add your own points, for example gathering, briefing, lunch, coffee or the game parade.
- Open the hunt and tap Plan the hunt.
- Tap Add point below the drives.
- Pick a suggestion, for example Lunch, or type your own name.
- Pick the time. An end time is optional.
- Pick a place if you like: one of the team's map markers, or type the place, for example "The yellow stable".
- Tap Save.
The points show in the hunt PM, in the PDF and in the calendar, in time order with the drives.
Allowed game
- Open PM details and tap the pencil next to Allowed game.
- Tap Add species and pick the species.
- Tap the classes that may be shot, for example calf and hind. Enter a number if there is one.
- If you need a class that is not there, tap Own class and write it yourself, for example "Stag up to 6 points".
- Write what applies to the whole hunt under For the whole hunt, for example "The allocation is given at the start of the hunt", and any fines.
- Tap Save.
Hunting the same game as last time? Tap Copy from an earlier hunt and pick that hunt. If a species has no open season that day, the app shows a warning.
The team's safety rules
The team's safety rules are written once and appear on every hunt PM. Open Team settings and the Safety rules box, or tap the pencil next to the team's rules under PM details. Tap Use template to start from a ready-made text, and change it to suit your team.
Each drive can also have its own safety points, for example "Do not shoot towards the road in the north". You write them when you add or change the drive.
Print
Tap Print in the hunt PM. The app makes a PDF you can print, save or share. Everyone gets the same paper, whether they print from a phone or a computer.
The hunt leader picks the map under the drives in the PM details, under Map in the printout: Topo, grey (clearest on paper), Topo, or Aerial if your team has aerial imagery.
Want a nicer printout? Turn on Title page in the PM details. The PDF then starts with a page of its own with the team logo, team name, hunt name and date.
Turn on Sunrise and sunset if the hunt PM should show when the sun rises and sets on each hunt day, at the meeting place.
The drive maps show the stand names. Turn on Hunter names on the map if you also want to see who stands where. The stand list under the map always shows the names.
The map in the app is the same picture as in the printout. When two stands are close together, a name is moved a little away, with a line to its stand, so no name ends up on top of another. On a phone, tap the map to see it larger.
Under How the maps look in the PM details, the hunt leader can make the text and the stands bigger or smaller, make the lines thicker, and turn on a scale bar and a north arrow. What you change applies to this hunt only. The team has defaults that every hunt follows, including which map the printout uses. An administrator changes them in the team settings under Maps in the hunt PM, or with Save as the team's defaults in a hunt's PM.
Each drive gets its own page with its map and stand list. The page is landscape when the drive is wider than it is tall, otherwise portrait. The first time, the PDF can take a few seconds.
