General hunting season for common wood pigeon in the hunting year 2026/27: 16 August to 31 December. Below: the law text per animal, the counties with other dates, and the decisions the county boards have published.

Protective hunting under annex 4
Protective hunting under annex 4 of the Hunting Ordinance may be carried out on your own initiative when the conditions of the item are met. It has no dates: the conditions must be met every time.

Applies in Dalarna County, Gävleborg County, Västernorrland County, Jämtland County, Västerbotten County, Norrbotten County
May be hunted in flocks of at least five birds causing damage in commercial crops (item 15).
